G'day June,

I can provide some information on Patrick PIGOTT of Queens County and Manchester. Patrick was my GG grandfather's brother. Patrick was born in Knocklead, Queens County, and baptised 4 Aug 1833 in Stradbally RC Parish. As you report he was a policeman in Manchester 1861 (PIGOTT), 1871 (PICKETT), licenced victualler (1881) and does not appear in the 1891 Census. His brother was also a Manchester policeman in 1871 (PIGOTT) and 1881 (PIGOTT), a Liverpool publican in 1891. Patrick also had two brothers in Australia, Edmund and Michael. Edmund was my GG grandfather, arriving in 1878, while Michael was married at Maitland, NSW in 1865. Both were publicans and storekeepers. Additionally there were three sisters, Bridget, Judith and Eliza(beth?). Their parents were Patrick PIGOTT and Mary COMERFORD.

Please contact me, as I am to compile a thorough history of the family. Any and all information is appreciated!

Regards,
Peter
