Pierson - Hews history; late 1800s

Looking for Joseph Ogden Pierson, father of Josephine, who married Edson Lawrence Hewes (Hews) in 1860. I've traced the Pierson line from David Perisone (b. 1369) without any results other than Albert Ogden Pierson (b. 1791). If there is another DESC line from David or earlier, would appreciate the lead(s).

New Orleans Directory for 1890-1891 lists Howard Hews and his father Edson Lawrence Hews associated with W. H. Pierson at 314 Mary St. Howard relocated to Chicago ca.mid-1890s. These connections fit into an ancestral record leading back to Alfred the Great and William the Conqueror so their importance is obvious.
