William Pierce b. July 3, 1805 m. Jane Skaggs

There has been ongoing confusion as to whether or not this William was the son of James Pierce, Green County, TN, or John Pierce, Campbell County, TN. I believe the following puts an end to the confusion:

"William Pierce and Jane SKAGGS. Surety Henry SKAGGS.
James Pierce, man's father, gave written consent; witness
Henry SKAGGS. Hannah SKAGGS, girl's mother, gave written
consent; same witness. No return. Bond 1 Mar 1825. A160"
