I have never lived in the country. My mother Theresa left Maurepas when she was nineteen to live with the Brown side of her family. Her mother Leger Picou died when she was 5, and she lived with her Uncle Willie & Aunt Nan till she was nineteen. I was born in New Orleans, but lived in Harahan, LA . I now live in Mandeville, LA. My Mom told me your parents lived across the street from her Dad Lawrence Picou, and that your Mom's sister Relia Berthelot married my Uncle Chester Picou. We did not know Ezeb & Clemetine could only speak French. It is possible that my ggparents John & Caroline could only speak French also, since they were brothers. When you go to Killian you will probably be surprised as I was to see the new bridge they built over the river. My Uncle Cliften Picou lived there till his death on May 5, l993. Have a safe trip for Easter.
