Mary Agnes Brown, daughter of Ann and Thomas Brown listed on Wigan, Lancashire 1881 Census as follows:

Address: 15 Ironmonger Lane, Wigan
Head: Ann 47 yrs. (Widow) b Wigan
Elizabeth 15 yrs. b Wigan (daughter)
Ann 13 yrs. b Wigan (daughter)
Joseph Pickup 22 yrs. Coal Miner b Bolton ("lodger")
(my Great Grandfather)
Mary Pickup 21 yrs. Cotton Weaver b Wigan ("lodger")
(This is Mary Agnes Brown, mentioned above--my Great Grandmother)
Ann Pickup 11 months--Joseph's and Mary's first child b Wigan ("lodger")

Do you have any knowledge or connection with this BROWN family? Looking for descendants' families.

Joseph and Mary had 10 children, immigrated to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1902. Our family is situated across Canada and in the U.S.

Joseph and Mary Pickup Marriage Certificate dated October 11, 1879 shows Joseph 21 years, father John Pickup; Joseph living at Warrington Road, Ince in Makerfield. This Marriage Certificate shows Mary 20 years, father Thomas Brown; Mary living at Ironmonger Lane, Wigan. Believe Thomas Brown was deceased at the time of Joseph's and Mary's marriage.

If you have any information, would appreciate hearing from you.

Helen Masters
