Hello Clair:

I saw your message re the Pickups in Yorkshire, UK and wonder if there is any connection. My grandfather George William Pickup came from Manchester, served in the British Arm in the Boer War, came to Canada and served in the Canadian Army and was killed in the Halifax Explosion. I do not have many details on him, as in those days, people did not keep such good records as they do today.

Just thought I would give it a go and see if anything develops.
