To be niece or nephew to General George Pickett, your ancestor would have to be a child of either his brother Maj. Charles Pickett C.S.A. b.1840 - d. 1899 who married 1866 Elizabeth Smith b. 1842 - d. 1918 and whose children were (1) John Smith Pickett (2)Henry Clay Pickett (3) Sophia Johnston Pickett (4) Elizabeth Trippe Pickett...or a child of his sister Virginia who married Dr. Blair Burwell. I don't have issue for them, but if they had nay issue the surname should be 'Burwell'. Hope that helps you decide if your relation is or may be connected. You can order a more complete genealogy of the family from Frances C. Griffin, 1313 Butts Station Rd., Chesapeake, VA23320 for just a few bucks. Let me know if you want the rest of what I have on the family. I am at [email protected]
