Looking at the warrants that you mentioned, George Pickett is listed as an assignee of Robert Pollard who is himself listed as an assignee of George Pickett.
The name Pollard was familiar and I believe that Pollard was a partner of George (Edward) Pickett, grandfather of the Civil War Gen Geo E Pickett, for whom the general was named.
Robert Pollard belonged to the business firm of Pickett, Pollard and Johnston (this Johnston was instruental in recommending the grandson Geo to West Point), who acted as financial agents of the State of Virginia in the early part of the nineteenth century.
They bought large tracts of land as a business as well as for personal use (Geo Pickett's home was Turkey Island, itself a large land tract).
If the Pickett and Pollard listed in the warrants are of the Richmond firm, there is essentially no chance that Asher was a long lost son of the very wealthy Geo Pickett of Richmond.
In your favor, Asher was born about 1770, probably in Henrico so he would have been 'of age' to own land in 1795.
However, Asher appeared on the 1800 tax roll for Wythe Co:
Asher's household is listed with a single taxable white male above 16; no blacks and one horse. He had no wagons nor stud horses. He was taxed 12 (pence?)
Tax Roll was certified 22 Sept 1800

It seems unlikely that Asher could have 75,000 acres in 1795 yet have such a meager household in 1800.
Don't let this deter you from searching further. Keep us all informed if you have any more hunches that look promising!
