There are still Pickett Families living in / near Pocahontas, Arkansas...I used to be in contact with someone from there who is a descendant of James E. Pickett, & they have much information, but I have misplaced their contact information.
The way I was able to make contact with them, was Place a Letter to the Editor in the Nearest Newspaper there. This is one way I make contact with Relatives across America.
When searching for Emigrant / Military Records, once must contact the Embassy Centers which are located in Each Country overseas, from where Any of Our Ancestors have lived before Emigrating to America.
All families were of Military Connection, when Emigrating to America...before 1775...and some of them, after that too.
But, by the 1750's / 1770's, there was a need for more soldiers to fight Against the British Control of the American Colonists, so these people Sent for Relatives who were Not of British Soldiers.
Not All of the Founding Fathers of America, were born in / of American Heritage, yet they wrote a Set of Supreme Laws, that were for Succeeing Generations, even unto their own, as they Fathered Children by Females of American Origin.
Soldiers were Encouraged to "Replenish the Earth", to bring forth Succeeding Generations, so there'd be plenty of individuals, to Protect the Freedoms & Rights, and / or, to Serve in Defense of the Government Leadership & Supreme Laws, set forth by the Conquerors of that Country & it's people, & other inhabitants.
