I am looking for any one with information on my line of Picketts: Henry b. 1634 Lancaster, England, m. Sarah ---.
John b. 1670 Essex VA, m. Mary Mess. Mace (Mason) b. 1709 Essex, VA, m. Elizabeth Powell. John b. 1744 King George, VA, m. Rachel Carr. Younger b. 1774 VA, m. Nancy Scott. James H. b. 13 Jan 1819 Switzerland Co. IN. William Oliver b. 13 June 1840 Pope Co Illinois, m. Mary Elizabeth Parr. Mary Anne (Annie) b. 29 May 1871 Alton, Indiana, m. William Simon Roberts. Annie is my great grandmother. I am especially interested in John born in 1744. In a book titled "Colonial Families of the United States of America" I found a paragraph that said "...Capt. John Pickett, a soldier from Virginia during the Revolution, who m. ---Carr.
Capt. John Pickett was a son of Mason Pickett and Miss Powell." I am trying to obtain a membership in the DAR for my mother, but they don't seem to have Capt. John listed.
Any help would be appreciated.
