I read your note, but I am not sure what you are responding to. According to the line up, you are responding to my note that I am working on a biography of Stella Pickett Hardy? You must have been reading other posts and just posted this in the wrong place? At any rate, of course it is important to state where material comes from and your comments are well taken. However, I am not certain what stimulated them. Did you conclude that I had presented something as fact without indicating where it came from? I am sure I was perfectly clear where I got my material from and to what degree I did or did not have knowledge of its origin. In other words, I think you are preaching to the choir here, at least if your comment was directed at myself. Hopefully, others will read it and remember it. I don't believe in throwing out family lore, even after it is 'proven' wrong....I won't go into why here as I haven't time. But, as a protocol for research, even after a long held belief has been proven wrong, it should be retained as part of the history of the research. I have to go, but thanks for the comments.
