GEORGE EDWARD PICKETT
A funeral will be at 11 am, Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in the Gateway Ward of the Church of Jeasus Christ of Latter-day Saints for George Edward Pickett, who died April 6, at age 86.
Mr. Pickett was born Aug 31, 1914, in Ketchum, Alberta.He moved in 1939 to Portland.During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.He was a firefighter for the Portland Fire Bureau for 25 years and was Captain of District 10 for 17 years, retiring in 1967.He was training officer for the Oregon Fire Services Competitive for seven years in the 1960's.In 1939, he married LaVon West.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Diane Holcom, Carol Rich and Susan Jones; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Interment in Willamette Nation Cemetery.Remembrances to St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Mont.Arrangements by Family Memorial.
I don't know this person nor am I related, but thought someone might be.
