I am looking for ancestors of George Pickard, born 1806, in Beeston, Yorkshire,England,died after 1861. His wife was Elizabeth Praws, born about 1810 in Bacup, Lancashire, England.
Their son was Joseph Pickard, born June 19, 1836 in Armley,Yorkshire,England. He died December 31, 1924 in New York, New York. Joseph Pickard married Mary Elizabeth Chalmers who was born 1841 in Glasgow, Scotland and died January 19, 1929 in New York, New York. They had eight children. (Click on report below)
The father of Mary Elizabeth Chalmers was James Chalmers. He was born about 1813 and died after 1880. He was living with Joseph Pickard and Mary Elizabeth Chalmers, at their home in Morrisania (Bronx), New York, according to the 1880 Census. James Chalmers' profession was listed as stone mason.
