Picard/Pecor/Picot/Picotte surname

I have an ancestor who was Marie Pecor. She was born Aprox. 1871 in champlain New York. According to the 1880 census in Champlain, her father was Joseph Pecor he was born in 1851 in Canada and worked for the Paper mill. His wife was Josephine she was born aprox. 1852 in Canada. Marie Pecor married Napoleon Joseph Brissette and I found them on the 1900 census in Plattsburgh New York. I was informed that all picards who lived in the northwest area of new york were prob. related to each other. This side of my family has been my brick wall for several years now. If anyone has any leads or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!

Tina
