The name of LCPL Charles William Piatt appears on panel 25E, row 108 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall in Washington DC as Charles W Piatt. He was born 24 Jul 1946 and died on 4 Sept 1976 in Quang Nam province of South Vietnam. His home is listed in the records as New Matamoras OH. Based on his listing of home I would look for his ancestry among the Piatts of Monroe and Washington Co OH.

You might call the library in Marietta, Washington Co OH, and inquire about a county directory listing for a Piatt family with a four year old Charles in 1950; or ask about the high school yearbook for the school including New Matamoras, Class of '64 or '65. Good luck.
