I am searching for my great-great-great grandfather, Aquilla PHY, who was born in 1805 in Tennessee. He appears on the 1840 and 1850 census in Platte Co., MO. I can tell by the births of his children that he left Tennessee sometime after 1836 and stopped for a while in Alabama, where a son, John M. PHY, was born in 1839. I found a John P. Phy in Montgomery Co., AL in 1850 and this John was about the same age as Aquilla so I am thinking they could be brothers. In Platte Co. in 1850 there was a Christian PHY living near Aquilla and who was also about his age. Could John, Aquilla, and Chrisitan be brothers or cousins?
In Platte Co. in the 1840s and 1850s are several family surnames that appeared earlier in Putnam, White, and Jackson Cos., TN. I am trying to see if Aquilla may have settled near some of his friends from TN. I have looked at all the PHYs in TN and I can't connect Aquilla to any of them.
