My wanderings have shown that some Phipps' left Rowan County, NC around 1760-1811 for Kentucky, Tenn, and Virginia. You need to start in ROwan with some names and proceed to the counties of the other states. Boone, NC have a lot of Phipps since I just visited there about a month ago. My Phipps may have moved through there and then made it to OHio by 1812. I have not been able to trace each step of the way. If you come across a John and Margaet Phips (Phipps) on or about the area and/or the dates let me know.
