I still having trouble figuring out the whole DNA testing thing. Anyway, I know that John Phipps and Cynthia Howard Phipps lived in Magoffin County. They lived at a place called Phipps Fork. That's where I was borned and raised. The land my parents own and live on was handed down from Layfette Phipps, one of John Phipps' sons. Folklore has it that Layfette pattoned the land. When he came in the area, it was all wilderness. He wanted to go to Texas(I think) and he sold the land to his brother William Greenville for a suit of clothes. I may have even found where John Phipps and Cynthia is buried. I think John Phipps lived on Coon Creek in Magoffin County. That's where Cynthia's family lived. I had no luck at finding anything on the Phipps marrying the sister. Sorry. What county is Stillwater and Grassy Creek in?
