I am looking for information on my great grandmother, Emma Willard Vermillion. She was born about 1853 and married Elisha William Phipps 26 Feb 1874. They had 4 children: Mary Elizabeth, born 14 July 1874; Earla Etta, born 10 Mar 1879; Charles Leroy, born 29 Aug 1886; Marie A or Annie, born 26 Aug 1891. All the children were born in Jefferson Co., Ohio. The family is in the 1880 Census for Warren Twp, Jefferson Co., Ohio. Elisha and the children are in the 1900 Census for Wayne Twp, Jefferson Co., Ohio, but Emma does not appear with them nor can I locate her elsewhere, Elisha marital status is impossible to determine with any degree of certainty. He is reported as divorced in the 1910 Census and a widower in the 1920 Census as well as his death certificate (10 Apr 1925). Does anyone have information on Emma after the birth of Marie in 1891? I have been unable to locate her on the Censuses. I think I may have located her in 1860 and 1870. I found an Emma Vermillion age 6 in Richland Twp, Belmont Co., Ohio living with a George and Leah Piper, in 1870 there is an Emma Vermillion age 16 in the Warren Twp, Jefferson Co., Ohio living with a Henry and Johanna Cook. Her place of birth is listed as Ohio on the censuses I’ve found her on. Any information on her, her parents or her whereabouts after Aug 1891 will be greatly appreciated, thanks.
