Wow, I'm really surprised to see your message for two reasons.

First, what a great idea to use genealogy to better understand A.S. When the doctor initially diagnosed me, no one in my family (including me) had heard of A.S. With further research I realized that my dad's chronic iritis was probably A.S.'s expression in him. But still, I hadn't thought to look further down the Phippen branch.

And second, YOU'RE SPENCE23! I feel like I know you! Much of what I've learned about A.S. came from reading through the postings on SAA. What a small world! So how are you connected with the Phippen lineage?

Feel free to send me an e-mail -- I'd love to hear what you've learned through your genealogy research.
