Here is what I can share from my own Finney files: Robert Finney (b. bef 1560) Lenton, Nottinghamshire, England m. Mother Finney (1560-1650) John "Pilgrim" Finney (1610, England-1702, Barnstable, MA) m (June 26, 1654). Elizabeth Bailey Jeremiah Finney (1662, Barnstable, MA-1748, Bristol, MA) m. Esther Lewis NOTE: Jeremiah was a shipmaster John Finney (1696, Bristol, RI or MA - 1773m Bristol, MA) m (Jan 12, 1715 -Norton, MA). Mary Campbell NOTE: The only child I have listed for John and Mary is Solomon who married Mary Ward; have one son listed for them, Ebenezer Ward Finney (b. 1755- Norton, MA) who married Rachel Raymond; Ebenezer & Rachel went on to have four children (where this line ends in my records). Ebenezer Ward Finney was in the Rev War and is said to be a land speculator and the founder of Finneytown, OH. If you go to rootsweb.com (free) or really dig into the vast amount of information at ancestry.com (access to some data requires fee) and input various combinations of the information you now have you may be able to uncover the whole story. There are so many family trees already researched now — not that they are all accurate but at least they can be a start... I descend from several Finney lines and they can be very confusing. For instance one or more of the "given" (first) names you believe represent ancestors may actually be a different sibling (for instance Jeremiah could be Josiah, John , or Joshua - and so on...) Good luck to you and your chlldren on learning more about Finney family history. There is so much to learn about Finney history in the early Plymouth colonies, some are "Mayflower Passenger" and even "Jamestown" ancestors, and among Finney cousins are all kinds of exciting personages: Presidents, pirates, and well - you know!
