I am also interested in any information that you have about Artilissa Philyaw. Her son James William Philyaw is my 3rd great-grandfather. He married Elizabeth Ann Butler May 21, 1836 in Jefferson Count Alabama. Their oldest daughter, Margaret Artilissa married her first cousin John M. Butler on November 21, 1858 at her father's home in Jefferson County Alabama. Their son Emery Marion Butler is my great-grandfather. After Margarets death in 1866, John M. married her younger sister Caroline. Between 1866 and 1870 the Philyaw surname started being replaced by Aaron in Lauderdale County Alabama and later in White County Arkansas. Any information will be appreciated.
