Doyle Phillips 1/19/14
The HARLAN family originated in Ireland and immigrated to America in the late 1600s.
It was Ellis HARLAN, born around 1730 in Pennsylvania who introduced the HARLAN name in to the Cherokee Nation when he married Catherine KINGFISHER (Wolf Clan).
They were the parents of Ruth HARLAN who married a non Cherokee, Joseph PHILLIPS.
They had 8 children, including a daughter name Lucinda.
She married Looney PRICE and they had one son, Joseph PRICE born about 1830.
Lucinda is documented in Emmett Starr's Old Cherokee Families.
Looney PRICE is listed in both Starr and as an Old Settler.
