PHILLIPS, John emigrated to Newfoundland, Canada
**I found the following at the England & Wales Census, 1881.....
*John PHILLIPS, age 29, birth year: 1852, birth place: Battersea, Surrey, England, wife: Ellen; children: William, age 3 and James A., age 1 ... *my Grandfather, John, not listed.GGrandfather's occupation: candle packer; address: 16 Goulden St.; census place: Battersea, Surrey, England; family history library film: 1341149; national archives ref: RG11; piece/folio: 644/19 and page number: 31.
>I recently found my Grandparents' baptism info for John Thomas PHILLIPS (1881), (b. Colliers, NL) & Margaret Mary POWER (1882), (b. Conception Harbour, NL). I've found details that lead me to my {possible} GrGrandparents, John PHILLIPS & Ellen McGRATH at England & Wales 1881 Census - Battersea, Surrey, England; b. 1852; b. place: Battersea, Surrey, England; spouse: Ellen, age. 31; child: William, age 3; James A. , age 1...my Grandfather not listed/just might not have been born at time this Census was taken.
I am looking to confirm these details as well other family heritage/ancestry information. When/Why/How they left England and emigrated to Newfoundland, Canada and details/info regarding my GGGrandparents???
>>My Father is Michael Cyril PHILLIPS b. Oct. 22, 1923 at Colliers, Newfoundland & deceased on Jan. 12, 1985. My father is the second youngest of nine children.
Would appreciate your help as I continue on my family's ancestral/genealogical journey.
Kindest regards,
Nora Phillips :)
