After several years off, I'm now returning to my genealogy searches for my Phillips' family lineage.
I am seeking any information about my g-g-grandfather,
John Phillips who was born abt 1828 in NC.
(We know he went to Wise Co., VA from Mt. Airy, NC., however we do not know if this is the particular area of NC he was actually born in.)
Around 1850, he married Sarah "Sallie" Hay from Russell Co., VA. (She was the daughter of John Wesley Hay & Celia "Sena" Self.)
They had the following children....
George Washington (b. Sept 1853)
Elizabeth Emma (b. Mar 1855)
William Riley (b. Sept 1856)
Martha Helen (b. Feb. 1859)
Charles H. (b. Jan 1861)
Mary Jane (b. Apr. 1865)
Ambrose J. (b. Mar. 1866)
John Patton (b. Feb. 1869)
