William, Might be a coincidence, but I also had Phillips relation in Clarkson, Monroe Co., NY, who went to Michigan. And the names Boughton and Boyd were used by my people. Wonder if there might be a connection? You say your Darius Phillips was b. abt. 1800 in MA or CT. Any clue as to his parents or origins? I descend from Ezra Gates Phillips (1789-1838). His father was Elijah Phillips, Sr. (abt. 1755-1810s) who m. Susannah Gates at Preston, CT in 1778, and settled in Manlius, Onondaga Co., NY by abt. 1792. Some of his children remained in the Syracuse area, but several others went to Clarkson, Monroe Co., NY by 1820. Afterward, some of these folks went to in Niagara Co., NY, and then to Cass Co., Barry Co., Allegan Co., and Kalamazoo Co., Michigan. My great+uncle uncles incude Boyd Walker Phillips (1813-1892) and Boughton Gates Phillips (1828-abt. 1910), who were sons of Ezra G. and Tamar (Walker) Phillips. who lived next to Clarkson, in Parma, Genesee (now Monroe) Co., NY by 1820, then in Niagara Co., NY by 1830, and moved to Cass Co., MI abt. 1833. I have quite a bit of information on my Phillips family, and am glad to compare notes. I'm trying to find more connections. --Nick Sheedy Notify Administrator about this message?
