GREENFIELD - Pauline Esther Phillips, 92, of Greenfield died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at White Hall Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born Aug. 25, 1914, in Dexter, Mo., the daughter of Nora and Willard Bell. She married the Rev. H. Watson Phillips 1936 in Olney; he died in 1978.
Mrs. Phillips graduated from Clinton High School in 1933, received a bachelor's degree from the University of Evansville in 1965 and a master's degree from Indiana University in 1968. She was an ordained minister, musician, photographer and author. She taught at Harrison High School in Evansville, Ind., until 1979. She and her husband served as pastorates for the Free Methodist Church in Rock Island, Kewanee, Harvey, Sumner and Danville in Illinois and Indianapolis, Washington, Evansville and Tennyson in Indiana.
Survivors: son, Howard (wife, Laura) Phillips of Greenfield; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services: 2 p.m. Little Zion Cemetery near Tennyson, Ind.
