Raymond, can you give me names of your ancestors (e.g. parents, grandparents, etc.)?My family is from Bacolod.My grandfather's name is Melicio Quiachon.Are you in the States?There's a story that Quiachon may have derived from two hyphenated names, i.e. Quia-Chon, most likely Chinese.And that somehow, when the Spaniards came in the 16th century, the hyphen got deleted.But that's just one of the million stories I heard.What is strange is the name sounds Chinese, yet most Quiachons I know of including myself look a little East Indian (or "bombayin" in Filipino).So, what else have you heard?
