Deb,
The village of Colby is in the town of
Woodland ME.A branch of Philbricks from
Buckfield ME went up there around 1880 or
so.The only Philbricks I have a record of
were born 1870-1890.But here's what you
can do to learn more.I checked the online
Maine marriage index and your grandmother
is listed there: Olive P. Philbrick of
Woodland m Clifford J. St. John of Caribou
28 July 1947.I go there via US Genweb
http://www.usgenweb.com/http://www.usgenweb.com/ click on Maine
then click on Vital Records then click on
marriage index 1892-1966.There are
instructions there for writing to the Maine
agency responsible for the records.Get
the record and it will have your gmother's
parents listed.Your gmother is not the
only Olive Philbrick listed; another from
Woodland, probably her aunt, married George
E. Potter of Woodland 9 Oct 1922.
