Philbin Family Genealogy Forum

Hi:My mother was Margaret Mary Philbin Koch m. to George E. Koch both of NYC. Her father Michael James Philbin emigrated to the US through Boston with his parents Thomas Cowley Philbin and Bridget Tahney Philbin in 1886. Along for the boatride were his sisters Margaret, Mary Ann, Bridget, Kate, Mike, Alphonsus, Thomas, John. Insofar as I know they all settled in NYC but scattered by 1910. A Joseph Philbin was born later. All the Philbins were born in Mayo. I have a fair amount on this branch of the Philbins but am looking to the ol' Sod for a connection. My Great great grandfather was also a Thonas and was in Mayo in 1840. Rob Koch PS: Philbin trivia - Did you know that the Philbin's were once McPhilbin, part of the Burke Clan who helped the Normans when they vacationed in Ireland. :-)
