Bridget Phibbs. Co. Cork
Griffith's Valuation of 1850 records that William Phibbs was the occupier of 59 acres of land at Caherdrinna, Glanworth parish, Co. Cork.
William was married to Mary Casey and their daughter Bridget was baptised in January 1842. His son, Thomas, was married to Julia Cull-Coll-. They had at least two sons, namely William and Cornelius.William, born c. 1862 was a well known athlete and known as 'Bill Phibbs the Runner'.
He died 25th Oct 1939. He was unmarried and buried in Glanworth. His brother, known as Con, died 11th Sept 1949, he was unmarried and buried in Glanworth also and so this line ceased with their deaths, The name Phibbs no longer exists in this area.
