MITCHELL, Emma E. age 75, of New Lebanon, OH, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, December 12, 2008.
Born April 6, 1933 in Grassy Creek, KY to the late William & Stella (Phelps) Goodpaster. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of New Lebanon and had retired as a supervisor from Elder Beerman Department Stores after 23 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Donald B. Mitchell on October 24, 1996: sisters Margaret Neal and Era Goodpaster: and brothers Charles and Boyd Goodpaster. Survived by sons Michael D. Mitchell of Bettendorf, IA; Mark L. Mitchell & wife Sharon of Paoli, IN; and Dempsey R. Mitchell & wife Vickie of New Lebanon: grandchildren Matthew, Nathan, Melody, Kelly, Luke: step grandson Johnny Adams: 15 great grandchildren: sisters Euna Pettlo & husband Louis of Springboro, OH and Joyce Albert & husband Carl of Vandalia, OH: brother Gerald Goodpaster & wife Linda of Bradenton, FL: sister-in-law Jewell Goodpaster of Bradenton: special niece and caregiver Marilyn Hogstrom: numerous other nieces and nephews: and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Friends may call on the family from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
