Leo was my Great-great grandfather. He was born in northern kentucky. He moved to Benton county Mo with slaves which he freed before the civil war. His house in Mo was a brick house constructed with slave labor and stood until the 1970's. He was not a large man having been a jockey back in Indiana. We do not know where he is buried? I don't understand why. Mary was Leo's second wife. We believe Leo was the grandson of the first person to spell his name Phegley Simon. I am wondering of Simon may have come to Kentucky with a Revolutionary War Land grant?
