Much of my information is second-hand, but I believe my ancestor, Peter Phebus, 1774-1860, may have been son of James, (Johannes Jacobus). Peter's son John W. was the father of Clara Virginia Phebus, who married John Esterly (Oesterly) and produced my grandmother Katie Mae Esterly who married my grandfather, Levi Calvin Shaw. All of this took place in Frederick County, MD. Any confirmation to this family lore?
