Hi,

First, let me explain I am not a Pharis researcher, as such. I am trying to trace the Rutland family and I found a marriage record, dated Dec 26, 1829 which shows that SAMUEL PHARIS was bondsman for Pamela Rutland and George Raburn. SAMUEL PHARIS also stated Pamela was over 18. Lawrence Co, MS marriage record, book 2.
Also in the Lawrence Co, MS marriage records, dated Jan 4, 1837, is the marriage of Rebecca RUTLAND to SQUIRE J. FERRIS, with Moody Holliman as bondsman.

Lawrence Co, MS is in the southern part of the state, less than 50 miles from the LA state line. In reading the Pharis posts, I saw where some settled in the parishes just south of Lawrence Co, as well as seeing the names Samuel and Squire.

Do you have any info on Rebecca Rutland Ferris or the relationship between the Pharises and the Rutlands a decade earlier that Samuel could attest to Pamela's age.

Thanks for any info.

Loretta
