My grandfather was John Sylvester Pharis. He
was born in 1888? and died in Houston in 1955. He was married to Maud Brown. They had
4 sons and 5 daughters. My dad was Curtis
Pierce Pharis. He died in 1997. He had told me that we were from Germany. But I can't
find any proof. My oldest cousin said our name was spelled Lapharis at one time. But
know one knows for sure. Originally there was
4 brothers who came here to the U.S. Two stayed in New York and two went to Louisiana.
Any information you have would be nice to add to mine. Maudene
