Hi Warren,

I sent you an email to the address you gave me but I'm not sure if you received it.

Yes, I would love scans of the pages with this information.

There is definitely a connection here with Abraham Lucien Arm. Phaneuf as his parents are the same folks listed as godparents/sponsors on my grandfather's baptismal certificate. This has to be my gr-grandfather Armand. This is the most concrete information that I have found to date. I really must get the book written by Fr Elie.

Also, thank you for the info regarding the male names often beginning with the name of a saint (ie, Joseph), as with the females of this time period/region often beginning with Marie. I suspected something of the sort.

There is another nice book that my dad found online and gave me as a Christmas gift. It is called "Matthias: A True Story" by Jean-Marc Phaneuf, copyright 2004, translated by Denis J. L. Dube, printed in Quebec. I haven't had a chance to read through it yet, but it is a very nice, hard bound, 50 page story with illustrations detailing the story of a young Matthias and his situation. There is also a nice timeline throughout the book. A complement to the book written by Fr Elie.

Thanks again for the information. I will keep you posted on my progress since you pointed me in a direction that gives me confidence!
