"On 2 October 1913 at Pointe-aux-Trembles,
250 people, all member of the Phaneuf family,
held a reunion to celebrate the 200th
anniversary of the marriage of their ancestor
Claude-Mathias and Catherine. the sermon at
the Solemn High Mass was given by the Reverend Father Francois-Marie Phaneuf.Following the reunion banquet, a commemorative medallion was offered to interested members.This medallion was the first and largest of its type ever struck in
Canada, a work of art, according to the
opinion of the experts."

Mt. St. Louis Institute, Montreal, Canada.
"Early in the morning of the 2nd of October, and in spite of the very unfavorable weather,
250 members of the Farnsworth-Phaneuf family
assembled on Place d'Armes Square, in front
of Notre Dame Church, Montreal.At the
appointed hour, the joyful gathering took
possession of the special cars provided for
their use, and they were soon on their way
to Pointe-aux-Trembles, the place of the
happy reunion."
