Dear Peggy,
I don't have any other information at the moment. I haven't been able to find my gggrandfather in the census for 1850 or 1860 and I thought I would try looking for Gottlieb Pfrommer the next time I do census research. Do you live in the Philadelphia area? My historical society has a Philadelphia directory from 1850 on. I'll look up Gottlieb there. I haven't been able to get an address on my family earlier than the 1880's. I'm curious to know why Gottlieb vouched for Michael. Maybe he was just a friend or maybe there were related. Have you checked the census for Charles Pfrommer?
Dorothy
