Kristin,
This is taken from the book that I have.
Col. P. said that Stephen Peyton moved to Ky., cir. 1799 and bought 36 acres of land in Nicholas Co., on January 5, 1880.
So I am assuming the year he purchased the land was 1880.
This is all the information I have. Sorry I can't help you further on this one.
