Jessie we usually correspond by email but wanted to answer here so other can see. The Sewells you mentioned have to be connected to my Sewells, through Samuel Sewell b. abt. 1715 Ann Arundel MD died Rowan Co. NC. He was married at least twice and is known to have had at least 14 children by these two wives. They were in several counties of NC before some of them moved to GA including my branch, Greenberry Sewell.

Samuel Sewell, Sr had several brothers who I have not followed, it's been hard enough verifying my own branch.

The Mabrys were also my line, Mary Mabry dtr. of Charles Mabry/Phoebe Gibbs married Moses Stallings. The Mabrys were out of Chesterfield Co. VA before moving to Warren Co., NC then Franklin Co., GA., then to Carroll Co. GA.

The Stallings also were from NC mostly around Perquimons Co. before again moving to Franklin Co. GA then Carroll Co. GA

Nancy Ann Riddick/Reddick married Elias Stallings in NC. They lived in Franklin & Bute Co NC they named a son Reddick Stallings which leads me to believe her last name was Reddick.

What I'm getting at is that most of these lines ended up in Carroll/Haralson Co. GA including my branch of Peyton/Paytons. And in one way or the other, they are all connected to my Paytons either by marriage or in-laws, outlaws, etc.

Now to a question, how many direct line male Peytons from your line have taken the DNA tests? If they are from the exact same family such as brothers or first cousins, do you know of any other Peyton male you suspect to be from your line that would/could take the tests?

You never know when there may have been an adoption, illegitmacy, etc. and where one individual in a family may not match with the other Peytons, another individual may match.

It's like with my great grandson, he's carrying the family name of Childs, but if he took a DNA test it will show that he's not a direct line male Childs descendant, as his mother is the Childs, not his father. The father believed in having fun, but not accepting the consequences of his fun. Alec will still be blood related to all these Childs back forever, but he will not be a direct line male Childs. DNA tests will show that his his bloodline is ______. Understand?
