Hello.
I am just starting this line of my family and really don't have much to go on.
What I do know is that my great grandfather's name was Leslie Peyton, and that he was born in Linn County, Iowa. I have a 1920 Linn County census record that shows he was 31 at the time, putting his year of birth at 1889 or thereabouts.
I found a family tree through Ancestry.com that shows a Leslie Oscar Peyton b1888 at Troy Mills, IA.
It has his father listed as Lewis Peyton, b1863 Troy Mills. He is married to a Lenora Dell Keller, which I find interesting because Leslie's daughter, my grandma, is named Lenora...so I am guessing this info is good thus far.
It has Absalom Peyton b1837 Bedford IN as his father, who died 1917 at Troy Mills. He married Ann or Cynthia Ann Simmons 1856 at the home of Jacob Keller. This ties this record to the marriage of Lewis and Lenora, so I'm good here too.
We then go through Lorenzo Peyton b.1811, Micajah Peyton b.1775, and John Peyton b1728...it goes on, but the further back it goes the more hesitant I am to buy it all.
So does this make sense as it was presented? Are there any glaring errors, or does anyone have any info on this tree?
