Re: Isaac J. PUGH/PEW b 1835 Virginia.
I am currently at an impasse in Chambers County, Alabama with no escape route in sight. Perhaps you can help. I welcome all suggestions to solve this brick wall.
Research reveals the following:
Teenage boy age 15 Isaac J. PUGH/PEW living in the home of Andrew Williamson in 1850 Chambers County, AL with no relative in sight. This is my impasse.
Isaac J. PUGH/PEW b 1835 VA – d 21 March 1870.
1850 Census-Isaac J. PEW (sp) –Chambers County AL, age 15 years enumerated with Andrew Williamson family.
26 December 1851 mar @age 16 to Sarah Mary Jane Day age 23 years, Chambers County, AL. Andrew Williamson was surety and paid $200.00.
1860 Census Tallapoosa County, AL record census enumerator spelled his name PUGH
1862 enlisted Civil War and served as Pvt. Co K, Louina Guards, 14th Regiment, captured and injured -prisoner of war
May22, 1865-paroled at Talladega, Alabama
1870 Clay County Alabama Census-Lineville reflects the family of Isaac J. PUGH

Why is he listed on the1870 and 1880 Census for Randolph County, Alabama if he died on 21 March 1870 1870?
