Pettus Book, vol. II Status Report (040113)
During March, my main goal was to contact former customers of volume I to gauge the level of interest in volume II. As of this morning I have 210 reservations for volume II.
At the same time, some of the respondents asked about getting another copy of volume I. At mid-March, I had 36 copies of volume I in reserve, but at this point, my reserve is down to 18.
Later today, after checking my tally for volume II, I will check with the publisher to get a final price to publish 240 or 250 copies of volume II. The extra copies will allow for possible printer under-runs (10%), defective books, and possible late-arriving reservations. As storage of unsold books would be a problem for me, I do not want to order more books than necessary, even though I might sell out in another year or two.For the same reason, I have decided not to reprint volume I.
