Pettus Family Genealogy Forum

For the past month, I have been working on the set of biographies for the last two biographical chapters in my book. As usual, I am trying to give comprehensive accounts of the life-stories of the subjects. If properly written, these accounts will contain information of human interest instead of just dry facts. As these particular chapters pertain to people who lived in the twentieth century, I find that I have a lot of primary source material, including many old letters, to sift through. It is amazing what one can find in sources that appear to be insignificant, such as some old tax bills. Not only do the bills contain acreages and valuations but the mailing addresses and postmarks show when the person billed moved from one place to another. With the holidays fast approaching, I will be doing some other things besides writing the family history in the remaining weeks of this year. Happy holidays to everyone!
