Pettus Family Genealogy Forum

By the time I finished editing my book to make the revisions needed to reflect the discovery last month that the original Pettus home in Hanover County, Virginia, is still standing, I found that the page count in three chapters was affected. This finding put me back at square 1 with regards to page-numbering, which is no longer automatic since I replaced the one long file for the entire book with about 50 separate files for each chapter or appendix. Recently, I came to the conclusion that some of the children's biographies in the last biographical chapter were much too long to be set under their fathers' biographies. This led me to break out the childrens' biographies into a new chapter for the next generation. Actually, I have created two new chapters, since I have new information on the Pettuses in those generations. I am presently putting in source documentation as necessary. When this is done and I have updated the page numbers, I can redo the table of contents and begin again on the index. Thanks for your interest and patience.
