I wanted to set the record straight on one aspect of my Yadkin County, NC ancestor's history. I have seen in several places (The LDS page, etc.) where people have posted the following incorrect information: They have stated that Sarah "Sally" Pettitt (daughter of George Pettit and Martha Poindexter) was the wife of "Alexander Kelly," and that that Sarah and Alexander's children were the same as the ones that I have listed below. They also stated that Alexander was born in 1800 and died 12/26/1893. I know for a fact that part of this is not true. It was HENRY (not Alexander) Kelly who was born in 1800 and died 12/26/1893. Henry and his wife, Sarah "Sally", were the parents of those same children listed below. Among the sources are the cemetary where Henry Kelly is buried, census records, and family members.

I do not know for a fact if Henry's wife Sarah Sally's last name was "PETTITT," however, I know that the Sarah Pettitt in question married a Kelly, and that years ago the Yadkin County Historical Society told my cousin that our Henry Kelly's wife was Sarah Sally Pettitt.
I just wanted to set the record straight.I am puzzled why people would post this information with out a source.
