Hello to all,
I have established Pettit/Petit etc. DNA Projects with several DNA companies. FTDNA is offering 6 discounts during this holiday for the Pettit Project. For female mtDNA test and male 25 marker YDNA tests there is a $15.00 discount. For Male 37 Y-DNA there is a $30 discount.
One 37 YDNA marker and one mtDNA discount has been spoken for. The rest are available. I must authorize these to be used, Also kits need to ordered in a particular manner to have the discount billed correctly with the discount. Tests must be received back at teh lab by Dec 31 to use teh discounts
So if you are interested please let me know immediately as I am contacting others about them.
I also have Pettit DNA projects with other companies. Relative Genetics went out of business so that Project is being rolled over to Ancestry.com.
I also have a Pettit Project with DNA Heritage a British based company with office in USA.
I keep watch for the best prices for the best tests. I will advise which is the best company for your personal needs and Project objectives.
The Goals are to establish DNA signatures
1)for any line in any country that has become detached by migration-
2) Historical Progenitor lines such as but not limited to British Pettit lineages
3) To identify Pettit DNA signatures of Norman Conquest and knights
4) Any historical lineages from Normandy and France
If you have any different objectives for your line - I would be happy to incorporate these into teh Projects. Also if any one is interested in working on DNA testing there is much work to be done in educating and recruiting others. Anyone with particular interests, American, Australian, British Regions, Canadian, French etc. lines are invited to become Co-Coordinators. Any one with special skills in web-building or fundraising are welcome to assist the project in these areas, as well.
DNA haplotypes should be reasonably similar for closely related lines. Each male descendent of a line marries a difference wife of usually different surnames so female mtDNA is a viable and important method to use in concert with related male DNA. Female mtDNA uses direct line females with one difference in that a male receives his mother mtDNA and can test for their mother's direct line mtDNA.
