Ref: The Pettigrew Family Quarterly Vol I, No 3 of Sept 1994, page 22, it is stated at the bottom of the page that "Robert A. and Timothy D. Pettigrew are the children of Alexander Pettigrew, who was the only heir at law, and they the only children of said Alexander." This is related to the incident at Muscle Shoals AL in which several Pettigrew's from the Florence Darlington area were killed by Cherokee Indians. The Pettigrew Quarterly was a publication of the late Pat Pettigrew.
