Crilly House

Dear Pettigrew Family members,
We have noticed that there are many photographs of Crilly House floating around on the internet these days, and that some of you who have been touring in Ireland have also "dropped by" to see Crilly House.

Please may I respectfully request once again that the owners of Crilly House be given some privacy. Crilly House was bought by my grandfather, Mr W J Knox, from Mr Vaughn Montgomery (who married the last Miss Pettigrew of Crilly House). My uncle, now aged 89, still lives there. He has experienced 3 nasty burglaries in recent years - one in which people were tied up and shut in the coal house for several hours while the house was ransacked - and he has, understandably I think you will agree, become very nervous about strangers coming unto his property without permission.

Crilly House is a private family home. It is NOT open to the general public. My uncle has always tried to be polite and hospitable to Pettigrew visitors, as were my grandparents before him. However my Uncle is no longer able to cope with unexpected callers. Please, please, therefore may I ask you to respect his privacy and NOT drive up to the house or wander around the grounds. The Knoxes may not have built the house, but we've lived there for almost 100 years and it is our home. Also for security reasons, we would appreciate it if photos of the house no longer appeared on the internet.

We thank you for your consideration.
